Our team at Curaleaf Maryland were so excited to be collecting supplies for their local community. They took to the ground right away, asking our patients to help us fill the box with supplies. Our patients in the area were grateful and happy to support and collected an overflowing box of supplies ranging from tissues and Clorox wipes to the basic school supplies like pencils, notebooks, crayons and more. Our team at Takoma Park delivered the school supplies to Champions Charter School. Champions Charter School provides busy families a fun, safe place for children to learn and grow.
At Curaleaf MD, we know that not everyone has that back to school shopping spree, and that teachers are continuously needing to purchase more for their classrooms. This summer, Curaleaf MD collected school supplies in their dispensaries to donate to a local school for the school year. The team was able to collect over one and half boxes of supplies like pencils, pencil boxes, notebooks, rulers, bookbags and more. Upon completion of the drive, the school supplies were delivered by Lucas Hale, the Marketing Manager of Maryland, to South Lake Elementary school. The Assistant Principal and other staff were thankful for the donations and spoke of the good use they would get. This was the second trip our Marketing Manager has made to donate the supplies and upon completion of both donations said this, “Being a part of this, seeing the looks on their faces, is rewarding and heartwarming. You cannot help but be joyful afterwards.”
With the rising need for school supplies for our children and our teachers, at Curaleaf MD, we thought that we should give back. In July and August, Curaleaf Maryland collected school supplies in their dispensary to donate to a local school for the school year. Upon completion of the drive, the school supplies were delivered to Reisterstown Elementary school by Maryland’s Marketing Manager, Lucas Hale, and Shawn Saylor, Curaleaf Ohio State President. The teachers and staff at the school were thrilled to be receiving the donations. Shawn Saylor commented after leaving “You could just see how happy and thankful they were. It’s a good feeling.”
On August 11, the team at Curaleaf Maryland set up at the Latin Heritage Festival in Silver Spring, MD, to support the local community and to provide our community with information on what Curaleaf does and about our core values. Not only were we able to teach them about
Curaleaf, but we were able to help people by answering questions related to the Maryland Medical Cannabis Program. We answered questions relating to how to sign up for the program, the different forms of medication, as well as the aliments that Maryland currently classifies as qualifying conditions. People enjoyed getting to know our staff, asking questions and playing Plinko for free swag. The staff stated that the event was a huge success and the attendees were happy to see us there supporting the local community.
On August 7th the Curaleaf Maryland staff participated in a Crab Feast event with the North West Chamber of Commerce. The staff set up at the event to talk to attendees, answer questions and teach the community about the Maryland Medical Cannabis Program and where Curaleaf fits into that. We discussed with the community members that we are dedicated to our communities and we strive to provide top service to our patients. During the event we were able to answer a variety of questions and make connections with local businesses to continue offering support for the community. We are always available to answer questions and assist our community member with any questions they may have.
